I have always been passionate about the role of music in affecting any moving image. Over the last ten years I’ve worked as a music supervisor for films. As a music supervisor, my job is to propose the music that will support the narrative and emotion of a scene, to negotiate it and to secure the rights for its use within a specific budget and schedule. In order to do this, I work closely with directors, producers, composers, performers, record labels and music publishers. I coordinate the original music production, music licensing and soundtrack release for any type of audiovisual project, in a job that requires a mixture of creative, technical and management skills.

Prior to working as an independent, I worked for five years as producer and music supervisor at MCO Studios; music and audio studio based in Mexico City with three main working areas: cinematography, audio-visual & sonic installations and advertising. My responsibilities included project management, coordination of the studio, coordination of the in-house and outsourced team, music licensing, direction of the independent record label of the company and coordination of the sponsorship of three film festivals: Festival Internacional de Cine de Morelia (FICM)CutOut Fest and KINOKI

But my interest in music goes beyond its relation to films, I am interested in music in itself and its relation to different artistic disciplines. It’s for this reason that I decided to move from Mexico to London to study a Creative and Cultural Entrepreneurship MA at Goldsmiths, University of London, where I specialized in Music Management. I then moved to Brussels where I co-founded Schiev, an eclectic music festival aimed to the discovery of cutting edge emerging talents. Whilst I continued working for Mexican films as a music supervisor, I started to collaborate with European artistic projects such as subtlemobs, AV installations and concerts; either as co-artistic director, co-curator and/or producer.
